Either in their impound lot or auctioned off.

I would be surprised if you could afford to get your car after 6months.It has probably been auctioned off by now.Just ask the police in the town that impounded it.Mine was impounded 3 days and cost 350.00 bucks to get out.

It goes to the city impounded lot. You have to pay the tolling and everything associate with the bill.
If not, they will auctioned it. It is their property when they seize it, you have to go and buy it back really. I would call the city if I was you. I am sorry about your trouble. We all go thru this,
even if pull and over call a tow truck. You are paying for the towing truck, etc. Also they charge for the day too, I believe. How much is your car worth? That is how I measure to see if it is worth getting it out.

The logical answer would be to call the police department instead of posting a question on here. How would we know??
