One can get a running car as low as $5, but be aware, you need to be prepared to spend money on repairs. The car is being auctioned as somewhere along the line, someone did not redeem it, therefore it was declared abandoned. Sometimes the charges are too much to make it worth a guy redeeming his car, but usually they have problems and someone washed their hands of it, so buyer beware, but have fun. They arent absolute steals. But you can find a decent buy at one. Most auctions that are open to the public cars are going to sell for wholesale or higher. You cant expect to buy a car at half its wholesale value. If you could, dealers would flock to them, quickly resell the cars at dealer auctions and double their money. Thats just not realistic. As a general rule, police auctions are well publicized and the cars are well worn.
